Walt Whitman, Frederick George Scott and Sylvia Plath wrote about it with passion; in Hindu and Yogic philosophy it is considered as the purest, most sacred time of day; and agricultural scientist and inventor George Washington Caver observed with awe: 'Nothing is more beautiful than the loveliness of the woods before sunrise.'
This podcast is designed to be listened to at sunrise, outside, on the top of a hill or mound. It is, in the simplest sense, a dawnsong, a kind of hymn to the arrival of daylight. Released on one of the longest days this year, this podcast is inspired by the simply glorious act of witnessing that which is one of the most wonderfully predictable, yet most over-looked phenomena of our natural world.
Dawnsong was commisioned as part of Everyday Moments . An idea commissioned by Fuel.
