Cloud Piece
'Its pretty surreal...real blue sky thinking.' The Guardian
Cloud Piece is a studio-based performance work which declares a love and fascination with the sky. It takes the form of a demonstrative presentation performed with a local girl aged between eight and eleven years old.
In three chapters, cloud piece sees the revealing of a complex relationship between the performers. Each chapter reveals further acknowledgment of the generations represented, and subtly points to what the next one have might have coming to them/what will be left behind. It is a comprehension of the past, present and future and aims to appreciate the difference between looking and seeing, between seeing and really seeing, and between surface seeing and seeing into.
Featuring Songs and instruments, lecturettes and tutorials, cups of tea and home-made smoke bombs strapped on and detonated.
'Style, grace, and a fine, playful poetic energy, plus a pair of performers with enough charm and presence between them to light up a city.' Scotsman
'Great to see again the buoyant Nic Green, and her wonderfully brisk eight-year-old counterpart, celebrating the mysteries of clouds, complete with science and adorable ditties.' Herald
